My Bio:
I've had the pleasure of teaching in Baldwin Park for over 30 years. It is my passion to inspire young people to find and reach their potential! Here's a little background.  Teaching runs in my family.  My father was a high school math teacher and tennis coach in Colorado when I was growing up. My parents ended up moving to Southern California after my sister's and I attended Azusa Pacific University. My dad became a college professor and tennis coach at APU. Incidentally, I earned my bachelor's and master's degrees from APU, and a few years ago finished course work for a 2nd master's degree in Educational Leadership there.  Thanks to my father's example, I became a certified tennis instructor by the time I was in high school. This led to a college tennis scholarship and ultimately to me wanting to educate kids as a career!

Our motto this year has been, YOU MATTER!   It's true.  You do matter.  We all do!   With that in mind.  I just want to encourage everyone to take care of your minds, bodies, and emotional well-being.  Do your best to continue to gain more knowledge everyday.  Try to eat well and still get exercise at home.  And perhaps most importantly, strive to look at the bright side of things & reach out for help whenever you need to, during this challenging time!

Visit Google Classroom several times a day to keep up on your assignments.  The district continues to provide more & more excellent resources, not only for education, but for basic needs like food, and for mental health as well.  So, stay connected with us!    I miss like crazy, seeing your wonderful faces and personalities.      We will get through this.
Why?  Because WE ARE CENTRAL EAGLES,  _______    _______   __________!!
                                                                                          (you know what to say!!)

With a grateful heart,   Mr. Carter                      #YOU MATTER
